Habit 6 —Taking Too Long to Negotiate Feature Sets and Schedules

An overzealous product manager (the guy on the left) may get really excited about getting every feature "sized" (level of effort, who would do the work, cost, risk, and schedule). Key team members (including the project manager on the right) may become frustrated with the amount of planning work that is being asked, when so much isn't known until the team gets in and does the work.

"Shoot, are all of these features really even necessary???"

After months of negotiation, the team agrees on a "doable subset of features." Think of all the time wasted!
